Black Angus Records becomes BKA Records – Beats Kickin’ Again
After a long hiatus caused by the challenges and changes brought on by the Covid period, we’re finally ready to start again. We're coming back with fresh energy, new inspiration, and a lineup of exciting new projects. But we’re also returning with a new identity.
Black Angus Records is now BKA Records – Beats Kickin’ Again.
During these past years, while working on other musical ventures, we also took time to reflect on who we are, what we stand for, and where we’re headed. One important question we asked ourselves was: could our original name, Black Angus Records, be offensive or hurtful to anyone?
We know exactly how that name came about it was a casual moment during a dinner with friends, while enjoying a Scottish black angus steak. It sounded good to us: bold, strong, like the kind of music we love to make. But we also understand that words matter, and we would never want our name to be misunderstood or perceived as insensitive.
Music is what truly matters to us.
It’s about expression, freedom, unity. It’s about blending cultures, sounds, and stories. Without that kind of exchange, there’s no real musical or human growth. Music should be a bridge, not a barrier. It should bring people together, not push them apart.
That’s the spirit behind BKA Records – Beats Kickin’ Again: a name that represents our desire to start fresh, to hit harder, to resonate louder. It’s a name that feels right full of rhythm, energy, and rebirth.
To everyone who supported us as Black Angus Records: thank you. We hope you’ll join us in this new chapter. What’s coming next is just the beginning. Stay tuned ! the beat is back.
